Took a trip East, down to Columbia Road Flower Market with my mum on sunday. I absolutely loved it. The bustling uplifting atmosphere and smell of fresh flowers on a sunny morning. home made cakes and freshly brewed coffee exchanged through doorways hidden behind the stands and little boutiquey shops, everything from small art galleries, cupcake shops, vintage clothes stores, garden and antique shops, and English and Italian delis. (not to mention numerous pubs, cafes and restaurants in which to refuel) .
We couldn’t help but make a few purchases, our flowers of choice included some blooming crisp white roses, with a pale pink and green touch – spikey Thistles and smaller purpley pink roses with a darker defined edge. They were beautiful and smelt divine! I think I’ve found one of my favourite places on a sunday morning ….
